One of Polymer Technologies’ staple product lines is our absorption materials. Polymer Technologies has been producing top quality sound absorption foam since its creation, and we continue to strive to find unique absorption techniques and materials that will expand our capabilities of absorbing noise, heat, and vibrations. POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF)

POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF) is an acoustical grade, open cell, flexible ether-based urethane foam designed to give maximum sound absorption per given thickness. Ether foams offer excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and chemicals while being hydrolytically stable.

POLYDAMP®Acoustical Foam (PAFS) is an open cell, flexible polyester based acoustical grade, polyurethane foam designed to give maximum sound absorption per given thickness. Ester foams have superior physical properties and offer excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and chemicals.

POLYDAMP® Hydrophobic Melamine Foam (PHM) is an enhanced version of PMF, offering exceptional water-resistance properties, previously unattainable with standard melamine foam, while maintaining all other key attributes. This melamine acoustic foam floats indefinitely in water; water streams bead-up on the surface and roll-off.

Differentiating it from standard POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam, its flexibility and resilient nature enables its use in cushioning and other applications where more durable attributes are required.

Our ultra-flex hydrophobic melamine foam has all the same properties of the ultra-flex melamine foam (listed above) with the added benefit of being water resistant.

POLYDAMP® Melamine Foam ULTRA_LITE (PMFUL) is a 40% lower weight version of regular PMF, a material which exhibits exceptional resistance to heat, low flame propagation and smoke. It does not drip in the presence of a flame and stops burning after removal of any external ignition source and fuel.

POLYDAMP® Extensional Damping Pad (EDP) is a lightweight extensional damping composite with a viscoelastic surface and aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive backing, designed to reduce resonant vibration that results in airborne sound. EDP provides effective vibration damping over a broad temperature and frequency range. It is extremely durable, water resistant, and odorless.

Filtration Control Materials

As a foam fabrication company, Polymer Technologies has been developing an assortment of products and materials for countless applications. We manufacture a variety of reticulated urethane foams with filtration control properties, available in a range of pore sizes from 10 to 90 ppi depending on style of foam selected and application purposes. Our filtration materials are perfect complements to the other composite materials we produce. POLYTECH® Reticulated Foam, Type – S (PRF-S), is an ester based urethane foam in which the membrane windows of the foam’s cell structure have been thermally removed.

POLYTECH® Vinyl Nitrile (PVN) is a Vinyl/Nitrile/Neoprene closed cell foam designed for use as a gasket or seal in a variety of environments. It offers excellent resistance to gasoline and other aliphatic hydrocarbons.

POLYTECH®High Density Polyurethane Foam Grade (PHU)

POLYTECH® High Density Polyurethane foam grade (PHU) is a low modulus open cell polyurethane foam. It behaves like a closed cell foam product when compressed and is an excellent gasket seal. This material has a significantly lower compression set than typical closed cell foam gaskets.

POLYTECH® Neoprene Blend Foam (PNB)

POLYTECH® Neoprene Blend Foam (PNB) is a Neoprene/EPDM/SBR closed cell blend foam with good resistance to weather, oxidation, and ozone. This is an economical closed cell foam for a variety of uses.

Temperature Range: -70°F to +200°F

POLYTECH® Cross Linked Polyethylene Foam (PCE)

POLYTECH® Cross Linked Polyethylene Foam (PCE) is a 2 lb/ft³ density cross-linked polyethylene closed cell foam. It offers a smooth skin surface on both sides and a fine cell structure.

Temperature Range: -110°F to +215°F
Flammability: FMVSS302; UL94 HF-1 version also available

POLYTECH® Silicone Foam grade 800 or 1000 (PSL)

POLYDAMP® Low Permeability Foam (LP-18)

POLYTECH® Silicone Foam grade 800 or 1000(PSL) is a soft cellular Silicone Foam that is extremely resilient to mechanical fatigue and has high compression set resistance. It also has Excellent Flame Spread and Smoke Density values.

POLYDAMP® Low Permeability Foam (LP-18) is a soft ether based polyurethane foam with low permeability but quick recovery. It is an excellent low-cost alternative to traditional closed cell foams in applications where moisture and air need to be retained.

Meets impermeability tests – Ford B0112-03 and GM6068M

POLYDAMP® Low Emissivity Foam (PLE) Low Emissivity Foam (PLE) is a lightweight composite insulation material designed to address all three thermal issues: conduction, convection, and radiation. It is an ideal insulation material because of its composite construction of a reinforced aluminum foil on either side of a low-density, closed cell thermal insulation.

Applications range from HVAC and ECS ducts to wall and fuselage insulation within a variety of industries, but primarily used in aerospace and shipboard industries.

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (HS)

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (HS-0035-ALVA3) is an aluminum foil-faced fiberglass fabric and PSA composite designed to reflect radiant heat while offering excellent protection to high heat exposure.

Extremely thin (0.035″) and lightweight (2.3 oz/ft²) composite allows for use virtually anywhere
Temperature up to 1000°F in localized areas within a larger area of material
Highly polished foil reflects 98% of radiant energy
