Noise Reduction & Vibration Isolation Solutions

Polymer Technologies’ noise reduction solutions allow for the absorption, blocking, or damping of unwanted sound waves. Among their products you will find different types of acoustical foams and acoustical barriers. For example, their melamine acoustical foam could be used for thermal and acoustical insulation in aircrafts.

POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF)

POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAF) is an acoustical grade, open cell, flexible ether-based urethane foam designed to give maximum sound absorption per given thickness. Ether foams offer excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and chemicals while being hydrolytically stable.

POLYDAMP® Acoustical Foam (PAFS) is an open cell, flexible polyester based acoustical grade, polyurethane foam designed to give maximum sound absorption per given thickness. Ester foams have superior physical properties and offer excellent resistance to heat, moisture, and chemicals.

POLYDAMP® Poly Fiber, Type V (PFPV) is an environmentally friendly, vertically-lapped synthetic fiber material used as acoustical and thermal insulation in a multitude of applications where structural integrity and increased temperature resistance are required. It is non-irritating and withstands water absorption substantially better than traditional fiberglass materials and many foam types.

POLYTECH® Reticulated Felted Foam (PRFF-900ZB)

POLYTECH® Reticulated Felted Foam (PRFF-900ZB) is a flexible compressed urethane foam. PRFF is made from a reticulated ester or ether based polyurethane open-cell foam.

Density: 5.7 lb/ft³ (after compression)
Temperature Range: -40°F to +225°F
Flammability: UL900 Class 2 Filter Media.

Exceptional sound attenuation, effective over a wide range of frequencies.
Exhibits outstanding filtration efficiency, high physical strength, excellent abrasion resistance, and oil wicking characteristics.

When used in conjunction with our other energy control materials, our foam gaskets allow for increased efficiency by making sure unwanted energy does not escape from your product.

POLYTECH® Vinyl Nitrile Foam (PVN)

POLYTECH® Vinyl Nitrile (PVN) is a Vinyl/Nitrile/Neoprene closed cell foam designed for use as a gasket or seal in a variety of environments. It offers excellent resistance to gasoline and other aliphatic hydrocarbons.

POLYTECH®High Density Polyurethane Foam Grade (PHU)

POLYTECH® High Density Polyurethane foam grade (PHU) is a low modulus open cell polyurethane foam. It behaves like a closed cell foam product when compressed and is an excellent gasket seal. This material has a significantly lower compression set than typical closed cell foam gaskets.

Temperature Range: -45°F to +212°F

Applications typically include gaskets and seals around equipment doors as well as mounting and protective pads.

POLYTECH® Neoprene Blend Foam (PNB)

POLYTECH® Neoprene Blend Foam (PNB) is a Neoprene/EPDM/SBR closed cell blend foam with good resistance to weather, oxidation, and ozone. This is an economical closed cell foam for a variety of uses.

Temperature Range: -70°F to +200°F
Flammability: UL94HF1

Applications typically include gaskets and seals in a variety of engine enclosures and equipment.

POLYTECH® Silicone Foam grade 800 or 1000 (PSL)

POLYTECH® Silicone Foam grade 800 or 1000(PSL) is a soft cellular Silicone Foam that is extremely resilient to mechanical fatigue and has high compression set resistance. It also has Excellent Flame Spread and Smoke Density values.

Applications typically include transportation, medical and other highly demanding applications.

POLYDAMP® Low Permeability Foam (LP-18)

POLYDAMP® Low Permeability Foam (LP-18) is a soft ether based polyurethane foam with low permeability but quick recovery. It is an excellent low-cost alternative to traditional closed cell foams in applications where moisture and air need to be retained.

Meets impermeability tests – Ford B0112-03 and GM6068M

Applications typically include radiator seals and various gasketing applications within an engine environment.

It is an ideal insulation material because of its composite construction of a reinforced aluminum foil on either side of a low-density, closed cell thermal insulation.

POLYTECH® Heat Shield (AF-0020-A3) is a thermal reflective insulation material that offers excellent protection for metal and plastic surfaces. Developed from fabric with a high-temperature resistant PSA backing, our heat shields can withstand exposure up to 1000°F.

  • Extremely thin (0.02″) and lightweight (1.33 oz/ft2) composite allows for use virtually anywhere
  • Temperature up to 1000°F in localized areas within a larger area of material
