Forms of Non-Conductive Gaskets Available

Foam Gaskets

Foam gaskets are best used for those times when shock absorption is required. Besides shock absorption, they are great for dampening vibrations. Foam gaskets come in soft, medium, firm, and extra-firm grades, giving you compressibility options. One significant advantage is the improved resistance to flame, offering excellent heat insulation.

Sponge Gaskets

When you need a gasket thin enough to bend and wrap, choose a sponge gasket. They are smooth and provide cushioning and padding where required. Sponge gaskets are manufactured in two basic types, open-cell and closed-cell. Each one works under specific uses. Because of its low outgassing, it can be used in many applications.

Solid Gaskets

Because of their tightly-packed molecular structure, solid gaskets are not as flexible as other forms. Though they aren’t always soft, some have a lower hardness (i.e., durometer) than their sponge counterparts. Solid gaskets come in both lower and higher durometers. Each type offers strong sealing with closure forces in relation to their hardness.

Our Gaskets Materials

Finding the right material for your project may seem difficult since each type has its own characteristics. We help you in selecting the best type of gasket, including:

  • Silicone – resists moisture and chemicals
  • Neoprene – resistant to water, oil, and solvents
  • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) – resists water, steam, and chemicals
  • Nitrile (Buna-N) – automotive and aeronautical applications
  • ECH (Epichlorohydrin) – used in elastomers
  • EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) – ‘rubber-like’ softness and flexibility
  • Fluorosilicone – excellent high-temperature stability
  • Natural rubber – great water barrier
  • Viton Fluoroelastomer – handles extreme environments
